Lessons on own Horse
Kristen McAuslan is a qualified EA NCAS Level 1 coach with over 7 years of teaching experience. Having competed successfully in Dressage up to FEI level and currently a member of the 2012 Elite QLD State Dressage Squad on BD Bellissimo, as well as bringing on her youngster Siriano who is now also competing successfully in the Dressage arena, Kristen has plenty of riding experience and knowledge to share.
Kristen has also had success in other discicplines over the years including showjumping, eventing and showing.
Kristen is now available for private lessons (specialising in Dressage) on your own horse and will travel locally.
Prices for lessons on your own horse:
At By Design Equestrian Centre - $50 per person for 45 minutes
At your place (within 30 minutes of Park Ridge only) - $60 per person for 45 minutes

Lessons on School Horses
At By Design Equestrian Centre we keep a safe and relaxed learning environment for everyone to enjoy. Specialising in beginners, minimum age 9yo. We have 3 reliable and trustworthy school horses named Doc, Star & Archie.
The majority of our lessons are one-on-one 1/2 hour lessons. This means maximum attention is spent on the individual rider, fast tracking improvement of your riding skills and knowledge.
Group lessons are occasionally available (2 - 3 students maxiumum). We have a maximum of 3 students per group based on level of riding experience and age. Group lessons include 15minutes of grooming, tacking or untacking and general horse care. The remainder of the lesson, 45 minutes, is riding time.

One-on-one lessons and small groups means more attention and time spent on each individual and more FUN!
All lessons are conducted in a 40x20m fenced riding arena and include tuition in correct english riding styles for basic dressage and showjumping. We also have fun educational activities such as games and novelties. Both children and adults are required to wear helmets, full length pants or suitable jeans and fully enclosed shoes with smooth soles and a defined heel.
Helmets and boots can be supplied free of charge if required.
Lesson Times:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Lesson 1 - 4:00pm - 4:30pm
Lesson 2 - 4:30pm - 5:00pm
Lesson 3 - 5:00pm - 5:30pm
Lesson 4 - 5:30pm - 6:00pm
(group lessons by arrangement)

Prices for lessons on School Horses:
$45 per person per lesson (1/2 hour assessment / one-on-one)
$45 per person per lesson (1 hour with group, max. 3)

Lessons are available weekly or fortnightly. Please be aware that, once you have committed to regular lessons, in the event of illness or cancellation for any reason a $20 cancellation fee will be imposed. This can be waived if at least 3 days prior notice can be given or if the student is able to do a make-up lesson (please ask) only if another vacancy is available.

School Holiday Camps
During the QLD school holidays we run horsey day camps. Each camp throughout the year has a different theme (e.g Hack Show, Dressage, Combined Training, Games etc.) so that our students can sample all of the different disciplines within Equestrian sports. Please contact us for information on our Horsey Holiday Camps.
